IRB Brasil Re cuts UW loss by 20% in Q3 to R$539mn

IRB Brasil Re has reported a R$539mn ($102mn) third quarter underwriting loss, a circa 20 percent improvement on the prior-year period, as it benefited from a return to underwriting profitability in its special risks business and a much narrower property loss both in Brazil and abroad.
