Generali snaps up 24.4% stake in rival Cattolica

Generali is to buy a 24.4 percent stake in smaller Italian insurer Cattolica Assicurazione for Eur300mn ($337mn) in a deal that will restore Cattolica’s solvency which took a hit from the coronavirus pandemic.
