Moody’s: Reduction of retro capacity from Ian will have “ripple effect”

In a report outlining Hurricane Ian’s impact on various sectors, Moody’s has commented that the reduction of available retrocessional capacity is likely to have “a ripple effect that also drives property catastrophe reinsurance rates even higher”, with the rating agency also suggesting the storm will be an earnings event for most reinsurers.
