Allstate cutting ad spending as filed rate increases fail to keep up with loss costs

Allstate executives admitted on Thursday morning that filed rate increases in some states have not been sufficient to keep up with inflation – with California and New York cited as trouble spots in particular – and that the insurer is taking measures beyond lifting rates to improve profitability.
