Allstate misses as claim severity and auto frequency hits bottom line

Allstate has become the latest carrier to see its first quarter earnings eroded by the impacts of inflation on claims severity and increased auto insurance accident frequency as it reported a 61 percent drop in adjusted net income to $726mn.
