Kinsale adds White Mountains and Willis Re execs to board

E&S specialist Kinsale Capital Group has added White Mountains Capital’s Teresa Chia and Willis Re’s Robert Hatcher as two new members to its board of directors, effective 1 January 2021.

The appointments increase Richmond, Virginia-based Kinsale’s total board membership from seven to nine.

Chia is a managing director at White Mountains Capital, a subsidiary of White Mountains Insurance Group, where she focuses on the company’s direct investing and merger and acquisition activity in the insurance and financial services sectors. She was previously an investment professional at investment firm Permira Advisers from 2009 to 2013.

Hatcher has more than 40 years of insurance industry experience and has served as vice chairman of Willis Re since January 2018. He previously served as executive vice president at Willis Re from April 2006 to December 2017 and as senior vice president from January 1994 to April 2006.

Robert Lippincott, chairman of the board at Kinsale noted the pair’s extensive leadership and industry expertise.

“The diverse backgrounds of Teresa and Trey complement our existing board of directors’ skills and experience, and we are confident they will provide valuable perspectives,” Lippincott said.
