Fitch: Insurers facing possible $10bn hit from Russia’s seizing of aircraft

Russia’s expropriation of over 500 aircraft means (re)insurers are facing losses that could hit $10bn in a worst-case scenario, with a realistic expectation of claims coming in at $5bn to $6bn, said Fitch Ratings, as it warned of potential capital erosion at some specialized Lloyd’s carriers.
