Allstate to hand $305mn of Hurricane Ian losses to reinsurers

Allstate recorded gross catastrophe losses for Hurricane Ian of $671mn, with the carrier expected to make $305mn in reinsurance recoveries for the catastrophe, as it also cited reinsurance costs as a factor in its decision to stop writing new homeowners and condo business in California.
