Berkshire Q2 underwriting earnings improve despite Geico’s 105% combined ratio

Berkshire Hathaway reported improved insurance results in the second quarter - with the primary group and property casualty reinsurance group reporting strong premium growth and improved combined ratios, offsetting losses at Geico - while the Warren Buffett-led conglomerate reported a large swing to a net loss on the back of investment losses.
