HCI working on Florida start-ups to to take advantage of market turmoil

HCI intends to set up additional carriers in Florida that will look like a hybrid of its established Homeowners Choice and insurtech TypTap subsidiaries as it eyes “substantial opportunity” from the market turmoil that has led to a hard market, the liquidation of some carriers and others facing downgrades.
