Augment continues senior build-out with former Aon exec Ledger
Reinsurance broking start-up Augment has further bolstered its senior team with the appointment of David Ledger as senior advisor.
Ledger joins the intermediary following a period of retirement, having stepped down from his roles as chief operating officer of Aon UK and chairman of Aon Benfield UK in March 2018.
During this time he also concluded his term as chair of Placing Platform Limited, a role in which he was vocal about the implementation of modernisation programmes in the London market.
At Augment, Ledger joins newly appointed Kurt Cripps, previously head of global parametric at Ardonagh’s reinsurance arm Inver Re.
This publication revealed Cripps had moved to the start-up after just seven months at Inver Re.
Having officially launched in July with access to $100mn in funding from private equity backer Altamont Capital Partners, Augment has wasted little time in assembling its senior leadership team.
The firm will be led by Andrew Matson following completion of his contractual obligations at McGill and Partners, where he most recently served as head of structured solutions.
Prior to McGill, Matson spent 15 years at Aon, latterly as CEO of global MGA and portfolio solutions.
Elsewhere among Augment’s management ranks, former Abacai, Miller and Aon Benfield executive Charlie Love has been appointed chief financial officer, while Henry Mikrut joined as head of rating agency advisory, a role he also held at JLT Re.
